Insulating 100 year old stone walls in basement
Hi,
We recently bought a house built in 1900.
I would really like to insulate the stone walls in the basement.
What do you guys think would be the best way to insulate these walls?
I am thinking of those foam sheets, or maybe some type of spray foam.
Any tips or ideas appreciated
Thanks
J

This is an excellent product for your application. What I like about it is that it allows access to the wall if something should happen. Considering that the wall is over a hundred years old, it is safe to say that you can expect to do some pointing in the near future. Regardless if it has been done recently.
