insulation

we are insulating a second floor Floor and we wanted to know if we need to use kraft face or no facing and if we use the faced which way does it get installed paper down or up?

Between 2 (relatively) equally heated living spaces I would use no-back insulation. If you already have backed ins. or can't find it without, it really makes no difference which way you put the vapor barrier. Rule of thumb is towards the hot side, which is in, unless you live on the equator , but since both sides are "hot" it doesn't matter. But as I said, if you can find no-back it would probably be what I would use.
