attic insulation

I currently have R-13 single faced insulation between the 2x8 joists in my attic. Prior to putting down plywood for storage, I want to add additional layer of R-13 in the joist cavities. I can not find unfaced R-13 in my area. Can I put in a layer of single faced R-13 with the vapor barrier facing the unheated space, or will this cause condensation and be a problem. Would slicing the vapor barrier be sufficient?

Thanks

Go to any of the major manufacturer's websites, such as Manville, Corning, etc. and ask for R-11 unfaced insulation and where you can purchase it near where you live.

If you already have the R-13 faced insulation, you can just peel the vapor barier off and you will have unfaced R-11 insulation.
