What to use to insulate garage ceiling?

Hello,
I'm planning to lay hardwood floor in the bedroom above the garage. My concerns is that in the winter time the floor might be cold. What you recommend to use to insulate the garage ceiling, the ceiling is covered with the drywall but nothing between the drywall and the bedroom floor. Thanks for your time.

Depends on what kind of joist depth you have. I'm considering this assembly for the same purpose, in 2x8 joists:

The key thing is to seal any and all service penetrations (plumbing, electrical, etc.) to reduce infiltration.

And don't forget the fire-code sheetrock.

I take it you have a floor down up there. Id take and snake the hose in the rafters and blow in cellulose insulation.
