...insulating the exterior of the foundation

I'd like to use rigid or spray foam to insulate the exterior of the foundation from the sill to a foot or so down into the soil. Any suggestions on how to do this and maybe more importantly - any suggestions on a product to cover the insulation so that it still looks like a normal concrete foundation?

thanks

Look into Sure Wall or EIFS, which can be applied over rigid foam board when using the proper techniques. Not sure if either product is designed to go below grade, though. You'll get better answers if you post your question in the Masonry forum, I'm sure.

Make sure the foam board you choose can handle ground contact - the isocyanurate foam board shouldn't be buried.

Thanks for reminding me. I was aware of that but I'm doing so many projects at once that it's hard to keep it all straight. I have a new found respect for the good project supers out there.
