Storing insulation

In searching the net, I came accross some interesting info about batts of insulation. Apparently they greatly lose their insulation value even if exposed low amounts of humidity.

On my garage project, I just purchased all the insulation (R20) I needed to insulate the garage 2 weeks ago. However, due to some other issues I have to put off installing the stuff. Is there any issues with delaying this installation? I have noticed there are 3-4 rips in all the packaging (enough insulation to insulate 24'x25'x9.5' garage).

We are in a relatively dry climate with humidity levels hovering between 65-75%.

Thanks,
Derek

You will be fine storing your insulation in the garage. Just get it up off the concrete floor on pallets or boards placed on bricks or blocks.

storing batts

Greetings,

When you install the batts you get condensation anyway and then mold.

radiant barrier. No loss of insul performance because there is no condensation. One layer should out perform what your planning to use.
