Attic Insulation

Attic Insulation

I currently have R-25 batt insulation in my attic. I believe I should have R-49. Will I be saving drastically in heat and electric bills by increasing my insulation to R-49?

"I believe I should have R-49." What's the minimum recommended by building codes for your area? Increasing insulation does save on energy bills, but there is a point of diminishing returns.
