soffit vent retrofit
I have a poorly ventilated attic/kneewall area. Presently no soffit vents, just a 6" vent cut into the middle of the roof. I can provide adequate high venting to a ridge vent, but need low inlet air.
I'd like to add soffit ventilation without ripping out the existing soffit to do continuous strip soffit vent (unless someone has a suggestion for an easy way to do this). Also something better than the 16 (!) "birdhole" 3" vents I'd need to do the job.
Is there a rectangular vent, say 2" or 3" or 4" x 12" that would be appropriate for this application? I'd only need 3-4 of those, and they would fit between the joists.
Thanks.

Thanks. Found that this morning as well. After further consideration, I'm thinking ripping some strips and doing continuous for better airflow. Nice to know there's a product for what I need.

These soffit vents are about 8 x 16 and straightforward to install. Just cut a hole and attach. http://www.cornerhardware.com/howto/images/ht076_1.jpg
Hope this helps.
