Insulating basement walls.

Hi, Everyone.

I want to insulate the interior of my cement basement walls with Thermax by Dow. Two questions I have are:
1. The Dow website states to attach the Thermax sheets directly to the wall itself without any airspace between. Would I increase the insulating ability of the Thermax if I leave an air space?
2. Should I be at all concerned with any moisture problems, such as condensation between the cement basement wall and the Thermax panel?

Any help or advice is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Joe

1. Convective currents back there don't do you any favors.

2. I'm not familiar with the product or the moisture issues with your wall that you would know about.
