Insulating Attic
whats the best way to insulate an attic i have a gable attic that will have rooms added for living space i have to small vents on the both ends of the attic and no softit vents its gets pretty hot up there i want to vent it properly and keep it comfy during the winter and summer any ideas on the best methods????

You can install an exhaust fan behind ONE of the gable vents for increased air flow. As far as insulation goes, a lot depends on how you will finish the attic. My gut feeling is: gable vents are not enough to properly vent a finished attic - you need a soffit/ridge vent.
