Foam insulation kit

I have a 8'x10' roof area that's sealed (no ventilaton) above a cathetral ceiling. I'm going to replace the roof this summer so thought I'd install foam between the 2x6 rafters in this area. From what I've read in other posts it seems the best thing to do is seal it up tight with spray on type foam, but not sure what type is best. Open cell, closed cell, or what ever? Anyone have an opinion?

What I was told by an insulation contractor is the you should use open cell in attics so that water can get through if you have a leak.

Closed cell is for walls and has a better R value, from my understanding.
