insulate old house floors with no subfloor

I have an old house that does not have a subfloor. Has pine flooring throughout. I would like to insulate the floors but am afraid to try some of the blown stuff --afraid it might not have enough ventilation and make my floors rot. Any suggestions?

What is bat insulation? will this go next to the floor without creating moisture problems? Thanks for responding to my original question.
