Insulation over Wiring

Hello;

I have a 1950's era house with some of the old knob and tube wiring. I am planning on blowing cellulose insulation into the walls. It seems that this might present a problem around this old wiring style, but I would like to avoid having to rewire the entire house. Is it safe to blow cellulose insulation into wall/ceiling cavities that have knob and tube wiring, or is it a fire hazard? Thanks

Here is my honest opinion!! Re wire your house before insulating!!! If you can/do blow insulation in there you will have hell running new wiring on your exterior walls!! I love cellulose. But I am not sure if it can cover the k & t wiring.
Good Luck

Everything I've seen in my my research says its a bad idea and is probably against codes (you would have to check your own particular codes where you live). Here is a link to a website that basically says get rid of it as it would be a fire hazard.
