Roofing felt under cement board on exterior walls?

Hi all,

I am remodeling my bathroom, installing tile around a tub surround and on the floor. I am going to put 15-lb. roofing felt under my cement board (hadibacker) on the walls, and I heard that you should put polyethelene behind the cement board on any outside walls. Can I just use the roofing felt on that outside wall, or are they completely different?

Also, is it recommended to install roofing felt under the cement board on the floor?

Thanks,
Jon

I'd use GRACE rubber membrane and let it continue up the wall above the cove so your floor is waterproof underneath.
