Does blow-in insulation need to be blown in? Or can it just be emptied out of the bag and spread around? I have an attic that is hard to get to.

Thanks!

It really needs to be blown so that it achieves its proper "R" value. When you get it in a bale, it is compressed. The first thing the blower does with it is break it apart and fluff it up. You just can't attain the same 'fluff' just by breaking it up by hand.
