Best way to insulate room over garage?
So I have one of those notoriously hard to insulate rooms over my garage. Much of the problem is because, when the house was built, the builders did not insulate the garage ceiling but still went and drywalled the entire garage. So I can't just buy insulation and put it up; I'd have to tear down all the drywall, which I do not want to do.
Since I don't care what it looks like in the garage, is there some kind of rigid insulation board I can buy and just put up over the drywall? If so, what would be the best kind in this situation (it will be exposed)?
Thanks in advance for any help!

In most situations you cannot leave the rigid foam exposed for fire code reasons. There is, I believe a foil faced foam board with a high enough rating to be left exposed, but there are several standards and in my experience, the big box store polyisocyanurate with foil did not rate high enough. Check local codes.
The other approach would be to blow in some insulation. Get an estimate for details and pricing.
