Why would you not want it? That is the fire preventative solution on it. It's not like you will be eating it....hopefully. Is this for blow in for an attic or walls? You may can use Roxul, which comes in batts, but they are compressed so well it doesn't become airborne.

Hi Chandler,

sorry, but the main ingredient for fire resistant is Boric Acid and Borax and it gives cellulose the highest (Class I) fire safety rating. Ammonium sulfate can "smell" in humid areas like here in TN and added to cellulose it can corrode metal and would be bad for wires. It will be used in both: attic and walls.

You're right, I had the purposes reversed. Roxul doesn't smell, resists water and flame, so it may be an alternative to what you are thinking. Probably the sulfate wouldn't be bad for wires unless they were unprotected, reckon?
Is this a retrofit with walls up, or nekkid walls?

It is retrofit with existing walls. Isn't Roxul a kind of batt and not cellulose for blown in?

Yeah, it's batt form, and wouldn't work in your situation.
