Have an 85 year old house in need of immediate attic re-insulation. Only problem is that the rafters are 18" not 15 or 23. I'm wondering if anyone sells that size, I hate to think of cutting that many batts down to size, it's a large attic. I'm not interested in loose, blow in insulation at all. Thanks for any help you can provide.

insulation

have you considered running the batts perpindicular to the rafters rather than parallel if there is enough height to do so

hope this helps-----josh

You aren't going to find 18" wide batts. Choices are to either do a lot of cutting, or do it the easy way and blow it. Not sure why you ruled that option out, but it's your time and money -- spend it as you please.
