Cellulose touching roof deck
Hey gang,
I'm going to blow in cellulose next Saturday and I finished most of my prep work. I'll post pictures soon. Basically I've got a few areas in my attic where I couldn't install a soffit baffle, because the ceiling joists were doubled up, or at the far edges of the house.
I would like to know if I will encounter an issue with cellulose touching the roof deck at these areas? I removed all my FG,and was left with approx 1-3 in of rock wool
Are there any negative reasons to use Regal cellulose insulation from Lowes? Any other brands better?
I used foam borax and great stuff to seal under the knee walls as best I could, and tried to seal up every fixture I could find too. I was able to seal up most of the top plates on the south side, but I'm having a hard time sealing on the north side.
Will this cause any issues?
Thanks for any input. I just wanna do this right, and never again. ;-).

I can try and see how skinny I can cut the baffles, but it will be tricky...there is no issue with cellulose touching the underside of the roof deck though? I'd just hate to have mold infestation or something like that because of it...
Is the regal industries cellulose insulation good? I'm planning on going with Lowe's because of the fact I get 5% back with my card.
Again, many thanks from this site. I've been able to accomplish quite a bit due to the knowledge gained from here.

I received the following PM from 97vulcan today
Please keep all pertinent remarks on the open forum as it may help others who have the same questions.
I cannot absolutely guarantee that there will be problems from the cellulose touching the roof deck, but neither can anyone else. I will state that I have never seen, heard or read of a problem, and I HAVE seen many installations where the cellulose might touch the roof deck here and there. I have no idea if "Regal" cellulose is better or worse than any other brand. Cellulose is nothing more (or less) than ground up newspaper that has been treated with fire and insect retardant chemicals. It is often produced by fairly small regional companies. I seriously doubt that there are any significant differences between brands.
Thanks for all your help and knowledge regarding my posts. If the insulation touches the roof deck, it won't cause rotting or mold? And do you know if regal cellulose is a good choice?
Many thanks
