How do I silence the plumbing pipes in the wall, and squeaky floors from the upstairs unit aboove me? The toilet, sink and shower plumbing from the upstairs unit above me wakes me several times throughout the night. What is the most EFFECTIVE remedy.

Is this an apartment? If so, check with the landlord before you start making any changes like adding insulation. He may have a problem with it, since it's not your building to change. (Kinda like you may have a problem with it if a neighbor decided to change the color of YOUR car to something that suited their tastes better!!)
