Insulating questions

We are in the process of remodeling our basement and adding a bathroom and laundry room. There is blue foam board 1" think on the outside of the house

2 questions -

What should I use for insulation in the laundry and bathroom areas? (I'm not going to spray foam.

Do I need to add a vapor barrier on the 2x6 walls in the living area? We replaced windows and doors

Two zones in Iowa, so need to determine your minimum basement wall insulation. One inch on the outside will help if done correctly. However, it will not stop moisture vapor so no vapor barrier on the inside. Normally you do not want the wood to be in contact with the foundation walls and you do not want to leave a gap. Solution is to add a 1" layer of rigid on the inside, may be too late.

Roxul is a good choice for basements.
Here's some information on basements: Understanding Basements | Building Science Corporation
