Ok, I'm putting in a faced R19 insulation in my crawlspace ceiling (the floors). My entire house sits on a crawl space.

My question is this. Should the face go against the floor above or should the batting be up against the floor?

I know the face is a vapor barrier. But, I've heard 2 (non-professional) different threories on this but am unsure which is correct.

TIA,
Shawn

The vapor barrier goes towards the floor -- UP!

Thanks...I was hedging my bet that it did.

There is some old stuff down there so I guess I need to turn it around!
