A 2-1/2 ton AC unit in a 2300 sq. ft. house? Sounds to me like that is about 1/2 of what you need, but then I'm no AC pro. I know the 3-1/2 ton on our 1400 sq. ft. house works just fine, even when it's 115 outside. Might post this in the Heating and Air forum and let Jeff1 direct you.
