I am in the process of remodeling my home built in 1958. Part of that remodel will include all new siding and windows. The home is insulated, however there is plenty of noise that filters through from the street. I have purchased 1/2 inch soundboard and ready to install. Can this be done from the outside of the building without causing any moister problems to the board and the siding? The old siding is cedar, which will be removed. The new siding will be Hardie Plank.

I would suggest contacting the manufacturer of the product you purchased and get in writing from them that it is an exceptable application method, so that there is a problem that you have something to go back on..

Good Luck
