R 13 in a wall with wireing
#1
We have several old 2X4 walls in a remodel that have wires running through the center of them. When we insulate them the wireing will destroy the loft in these areas is this ok?

I have heard and read lots of advice on this. You simply want to tear your batting into separate pieces to flow around the wiring. For instance, if you have 4-inch batting, you would peel back 2 inches of it and then let it flow around the wire. I suppose you could also cut the batting into two different pieces, with one ending at the wire and the other continuing from there.
