Can spray foam insulation touch A/C?

I just put in a "Through the Wall" Air conditioner. Kind of like a window unit, but through the wall.

Can I use Spray foam insulation around this?

The spray foam will touch the metal box of the AC unit.

Yes or no?

Thanks

Spray foam can make removing the unit difficult, almost gluing it in place so you may be cursing yourself in a few years. But, spray foam is good for sealing odd shaped gaps. There are two types of spray foam. I would use the low expansion type intended for around doors and windows. It won't apply as much pressure as it expands so it won't try to distort the AC's housing.
