bonding rigid foam to wall

Guys, I'm using ownes corning 2" xps rigid foam on a concrete wall. In the past project I glued it to the wall using pl 300 foam board adhesive. It is no longer being made at this time and I can't find it online or in the stores right now. What else can I use to glue this to the wall with out it eating the xps?

I own a home in SE Pa. that was built in 1916 and is 2 1/2 stories with a basement and attic. It is of brick construction with plaster walls on the inside. My daughter and her family of 6 rent it from me. On November 30th of 2021 there was a house fire that was contained in the living room but the smoke damage is throughout. In the living room the firm that is doing the reconstruction has torn out the plaster walls and will replace it with drywall. The lath is still up and right behind the lath is the brick and there's not much depth at all. Should I insulate those outer walls before the reconstruction begins or is it okay just the way it is? I don't know if brick walls are good insulation or not. When it was built in 1916 fuel oil wasn't 4 bucks a gallon! Thanks. Read More

Help me with insulation over recessed fan in a ceiling right under the roof

Hi all: [color=#383a3b]Moved into a new place last fall, so the problem didn't become evident up until now. Upstairs bath is right under the unventilated asphalt shingles roof (2x6 joists), and ancient exhaust light/fan would get scorching hot when it barely got to low 80's. The rest of the ceiling has R-19 and seems to be doing a great job. Heat spot is due to the lack of the insulation.[/color] [color=#383a3b]Replaced with low profile IC rated fan/light combo mounted outside on the drywall and that gave me 4 " clearance inside the joists. First tried to get fancy with double radiant barrier layer at 2" gaps, and it doesn't do much once temperatures start approaching the 90s. Realistically the space only allows for effective use of R-13, but I feel that with summers here going often into mid-90's that's not the greatest solution.[/color] [color=#383a3b]What would you recommend?
