Hi
Illinois Basement
Want to complete the rim joist insulation properly then drywall the ceiling and walls. Builder sprayed 1+ inches around the perimeter and 3/8" to 3/4" in the center of each rim joist. It seems his intent was to seal the joints with some residual spray in the center of the rim joists. I'm having and additional 2" sprayed on, which should bring the R-value up to R15-R19, depending on the skill of the installer.
I'm trying to avoid any additional fiberglass or rock wool added to the inner side of the foam. I will install random depth gauges (screws) to aid in getting the proper depth..
Any comments or suggestions would be welcome.
Thank You
Jeff
