Question

I have a popcorn acoustical ceiling that I want to remove. I have sent a sample in for testing and the results came back indicating that the sample contained 4% Crysotile, which I understand is the mineral that asbestos is made from. Anyhow, is this amount (4%) anything that I should be concerned about? Is crysotile dangerous? I plan to use disposable coveralls and a dust mask, as well as keeping the ceiling wet during removal...will this be adequate? does anyone have any removal tips that I would find helpful?

Thanks so much.

You should contact your State Department of Environmental Protection and they would tell you if the substance is hazardous and if so what the procedures are to dispose of it.
