Question Finishing a polebarn interior

I just built a polebarn and would like to finish the interior. I plan on using 2x6 stud walls . Should I put a vapor barrier on before I stand the walls up or should I put it on after I insulate? I have been told not to put anything up against the metal siding because this would hold the moisture. What type of vapor barrier should I use and how should I insulate?

If your installing the 2 x 6's 24" OC, then I would just use R-19 Kraft faced batts. Install the vapor barrier towards the inside. This is of course if you are planning on covering the insulation with drywall.

Good luck

I am in the process of doing the same thing but instead of pole barn walls I am remodelling a loft. Would the same thing apply to roof in on 26" oc studs and I was thinking of the vent inserts then, insulation and then a vapor barrier. For the walls I am planning on using exterior bord and bat.

What is the R-19 that you refered to by the way?
