foam seal & fire hazard?

foam seal & fire hazard?
I know that the expandible foam seal is very volatile while spraying and was warned against using it near electrical appliances (drafty air conditioner) because of this.
Any one had any concerns or have any info about applying spray foam around electrical appliances that won't be used while the foam is curing?
Would this then present problems with foam near wiring & outlets?
I've got a lot of gaps that foam seems like it would be very effective at sealing, but am concerned about creating a fire hazard that would not be visible once sealed up.
thanks

Expandable foam is widely used to air seal around electric outlets and switches. It goes without saying that it is applied around the boxes and not in them. In which case there is no fire hazard.
