covering interior supply pipes

I'm insulating a finished basement, heated space with no existing insulation for a bathroom using R-13, mostly for sound absorbsion, but have extra and figured it wouldn't hurt to go over the existing concrete walls. My question is should I keep the insulation away from the supply pipes located on the concrete wall surface or do you think it is ok to go over them.

I wouldnt suggest you insulate over them. you might end up keeping the heat from them and causing them to freeze in winter months. Insualte behind them if you can.

Good Luck

Jim
