floor insulation between stringers and concrete slab
I converted a three seasons room on the rear of my home to a year round bedroom and am looking for ideas on how to best insulate the floor. The floor is made up of deck boards nailed to 6" stringers that sit directly on a concrete slab. The area is approx 12' x 18'. I receive a lot of cold air from outside that enters through the floor boards. It would be nice too keep the
current floor boards down if possible. Otherwise, I'm thinking I'd
lay a subfloor over themand then throw carpet down. Any suggestions from anyone? If I fill the area between the slab and the underneath of the floor boards with insulation, will I encounter problems down the road with wood rotting b ecause of poor circulation?

A radiant barrier and the subfloor with a carpet over it may be useful in this application. You are correct if you fill the cavities with any type of insulation, you will experience a moisture problem that may produce wood rot. This would be a result of inadequate ventilation to this area.
