Prep Ground for Mulch & Shrubs
I have a 4x50 stretch of ground along a fence that I've cleared out using Roundup. I'm planning on planting several bushes/shrubs in this area, and finishing off with 3"-4" of mulch.
Would you recommend using a landscapers fabric to keep the weeds back, or use a product like Preen with no fabric? Thanks.

Landscape fabric will be handy for keeping the weeds from sprouting under the mulch. Nevertheless, weeds will eventually sprout in the mulch itself. If you have killed the existing growth, you can prepare the soil then apply the fabric. Cut slits or crosses in the material to plant the plants. Preen might be best used on the mulch after everything is planted.
Hope this helps.
