Question Spanish Bayonet Yucca

Any thoughts on if it is ok to thin out/cut some of the yucca stalks ?

This shrub has gotten large with many volunteer stalks . The center is getting
rather open and I would like to encourage/re-direct new growth there !

Thanks

if its the same as what we call the spanish dagger, go ahead and prune it. you can start new plants from cut stalks by simply putting them in the soil and water them.

I was amazed at the growth I got out of 3 plants . These babies got 6-8 ft tall before they leaned over . They spread pretty well too!

I'll say they are probably the same species.................OUCH ,IF YOUR NOT CAREFUL

These stalks have a caliper of 4-5 inches ,will these root or should I use a smaller stalk/section!

we cut about a dozen in the 2-4" range last year and all but two or three made it.
we also cut the point off of the tips when they start reacing out and biting us.
