What type of IVY?

I am looking for some type of ivy that would not attract bugs...is there such a kind? Want to plant near patio but I don't want bugs hangin' around.

An ivy such as boston ivy does not bloom, so it would not attract bugs seeking pollen. Most ground covers will become thick enough to provide a haven for all manner of small critters in and among the roots, stems, and leaves of the plants.

If you want to avoid all manner of insects, an open ground cover won't harbor as many as a dense ground cover. Insects seeking pollen won't be attracted to plants that don't bloom.

Hope this helps.
