Is my Techny Arborvitae OK?

I have a few of these trees but they are beginning to get some rust colored foliage. Is this a normal process of the tree getting ready for winter season? I guess I never noticed it before. They are generally a deep green when I do notice.

Where you are, has fall leaf color change started yet? It is underway here in zone 7.

It's an evergree, but depending on your location, they may be drying out due to a long dry summer. If it's still dry where you're at, I'd water the daylights out of them, before it gets worse.

we've gotten a ton of rain. I'm in the Chicago, IL area. It's been moist since August.

Good to know Seattle's not the only place it rains!
It's a very hardy plant, and very good for the area you live in, and a little browning can be expected from them.
