Question Leland Cypress some grow some don't??

I planted a row of 30 Leland Cypress about 5 years ago. Some grow good some have not. I have a watering system in place for each tree. What is the best fertilizer for this tree? And, does anyone know why some of the trees would not grow as well as others. In the row there may be two or three trees that are 8 feet tall and then the next two or three trees may only be 2 feet tall. Thanks everyone. Larry

How close together did you plant the trees? Trees compete for moisture and nutrients. They reach 60 to 70 feet tall and 12 to 20 feet wide, and 100 feet tall is not uncommon.
