setting sprinkler timer
hello,
totally rookie question.
i just had sprinkler system installed. of course, installer walked me through, and had it all set up for me. of course, next weekend relatives came over and wanted to see it all in action, so i messed up all his settings with manual starts and such.
so, question have i. i have 7 zones. and i need to set up 7 times to irrigate them, correct? guy told me to set it for 8 minutes a zone. ok, so when i try to do setup again, do i simply set time for all zones to 5am? or i have to tinker it to
5am zone 1, 5:10 zone 2, etc? problem is - timer operates only in 30 minute increments, i can't enter 5:11 or 5:21.
i know, easiest is to call the guy and ask him, but somehow pride won't let me do it.
manual generously recommends "set you preferred time" and that's it.
will appreciate

with mine (toro) you set the time for the system to start, which zones to run, and amount of time you want them to stay on and it automatically runs in sequence (zone 1 then 2 then 3, etc) then shuts off. They all run for the same amount of time you set, meaning if you set them for 30 minutes and you have 7 zones, your system is going to run for 3 1/2 hours (at least mine does).
You should not have to set a different on/off cycle for each zone.
Yours may be the same.
Have you tried their website? Usually you can get help in the FAQ section.

thanks for response. actually, sprinkler man called about a week ago and i asked him. same thing - just set start time for "schedule A", time per zone, and it'll cycle through zones by itself. 30 min per zone, huh? he told me 8, summer time 12 top. water is VERY pricy here in WA.
