Strapping tool for tree supports

In south Florida it seems like the standard method landscapers use to support large trees that have been leaned in hurricanes is to attach three 2x4 blocks to the trunk about 5 feet off the ground using a strapping tool. They then wedge or nail long 2x4s under the blocks. The long 2x4s extend out to the ground at an angle to make a tripod.

Has anyone done this and would you know of a good portable tool to buy? Metal or plastic strapping?

Thanks!
