Uneven yard leads to stagnant pool of water

Hi all,

My yard slightly slopes in such a way that water gathers on the right end corner of my yard. It is very unsightly look and I was wondering if anyone has had this problem before. My yard is rectangular in shape(behind my house). What are my options? so Would I have to install a drainage system to move the water out OR .....is there another way?

Thanks in advance.

Water is going to seek the lowest point.

Basically two options.

(1) You can install a drain system, like you mentioned in your original post.

(2) Or you can have someone re-grade your yard and fill in the low area, making it slope away from there, and away from your house.

Good Luck!

Thank you very much.

I was wondering if (2) was even possible, I didn't know what the problem technical description for (2) was, so I avoided asking and sounding silly. Would you say that (2) is an easier option and a possible DIY project?

Thanks.
