Broken 90 elbow in underground sprinkler

Question Broken 90 elbow in underground sprinkler

Today I found a broken elbow (90degree) in my sprinkler system. Is there a simple and efficient way to replace that without having to use many other connections on the pvc pipe?

I fit is laying horizontal you can dig a big enough hole to get a little flex from the pipes and install two 45's. It will leave you with two less joints than an elbow and two couplings.

Sorry I wrote this totally wrong. It is the 45 (or sometimes called L) attachement that broke off.....how do I replace that now that the pipes are further apart without too many connections?

You will have to cut back on eather side of the pipe and then glue couplrers and cut a peice of pvc to fit, then glue in the new elbow.
