Wood Chips Under Deck

Last fall, I had 2 large stumps ground and to save money I figured I'd dispose of the wood chips myself. I now know what a pain that will be. I'm building a deck this spring and am thinking of just laying the wood/dirt mix on the area where I'll build the deck. Is that going to just invite termites to feast on my newly built deck or will it not matter? Thanks.

They may not feast on the deck..but yes, you will be encouraging them to come to that area. If its near the house..it's a bad idea. Spread them in flower beds away from the house instead.

I agree with GunGuy. Since the wood chips have aged, spread them as mulch. If the chips are large they will be best used on shrub borders.
