My irrigations system has 14 zones and approximately 80 heads in total that irrigate approximately one acre. 11 zones have 4 or 5 heads and then 3 zones, which water the landscaping have about 10 heads per zone. I am trying to figure out if my current air compressor will blowout my specific irrigation system.
I have a Husky air compressor (WL651000AJ) with the following specs:
- 13 gallon
- 125PSI
- SCFM 6.5@40PSI & 5.1@90PSI
- 5 HP
Let me know if this will work and if you have any additional questions please le tme know.

I assume that your irrigation system is set up to allow you to blow out one zone at a time. (All of mine have been that way, but you never know). If so, you only need to worry about the requirements for any one zone.
My son-in-law blows out his own system with a compressor smaller that yours. He says that too much psi risks blowing off the heads. He says the inportant thing is to allow enough time for the 'tank' to recycle between zones. I didn't think to ask whether all compressors have a tank.
