Starting from scratch

We recently bought our house and are finally getting around to working in the yard. Right now our yard is all dirt(seems like chead fill), small rocks and weeds. we are looking to de-rock and de-weed. what is the easiest way to get rid of all the small rocks and get the dirt ready for grass seed in the fall? Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Brisk action with a leaf rake. You want the loose ones off of the top gone.

As far as getting ready for grass seed, having an oscillating sprinkler with angle control ready to go will help take the nonsense out of keeping it watered.
These sprinklers cover large areas and the ability to limit angle keeps placement from getting complicated.

Once that grass seed gets wet, it better keep getting wet!

Anyone know of a good way to lay grass seed?
I just rake mine in a bit.
