Three rotators all blow out?
I turned off the system last week when we had ~5" of rain in a 2 day span. Anyway, Monday I turn system back on to sprinkle Tues. am. I get home from work and 3 of the 4 PGJ rotaters have their caps blow off and a mudhole at each. Wondering if I can salvage the heads, as this has never happened before. Any thoughts on why this occurred? I figure maybe there was air in lines after the big rain??

Since no one answered I'll follow-up w/another....
If I replace the 4 existing rotators with fixed heads will it increase the pressure too much? I have other zones with as many as 10-12 fixed sprayers. Any certain brand that will handle pressure increase?

fixed heads use more water to get the same distance as a gear rotor and can only reach 15' max. So if you use a fixed spray you will probably come up short on distance coverage. I would not change to fixed. Not really sure why your gear drives would blow other than air like you suggested. are you on city water? could you have experienced a surge in city water pressure?
