Dwarf fescue?

Just curious if anyone here has ever planted (successfully ) dwarf fescue. I was looking at it for re-seeding/over-seeding my small backyard. It appears that it grows slow (less mowing) and doesn't need a lot of water (compared to other grasses like Kentucky Bluegrass). Basically, all of the properties I would love to have in my lawn (so it almost sounds too good to be true).

I live in Maryland, Zone 7. Clay soil (which I will be testing and amending as necessary), and 2 small dogs (toy poodles, females). I have been going organic (Milorganite fertilizer) so far, and plan on continuing to do so (been reading up on kelp and fish fertilizers).

Searched on the forums and didn't really find any posts. Any help/experiences are appreciated.

Thank You,
Neil

Forgot to add that the rear of my house faces south to southeast, so I get sun, but I also have a 6-foot tall fence which provides shade on the yard. No trees to speak of on my little 16'x16' rear yard, just a dwarf butterfly bush in the corner.
