wimpy sprinkler system

A month ago my 12 zone sprinkler system was very strong, doing a good job. Lately it covers only half of what it used to. It all works, just way less coverage, very wimpy. What could cause this and how do I fix it. It will run strong for about 5 minutes, then just becomes really weak.

Welcome to the forums!! It sounds as if you have dirt or another occlusion either in the master switch area or in the lines in general (most likely the main line. Water can't get past is in normal force. I would start by removing a few sprinkler heads and turning on the system to see if it will purge itself first. You may even have to take your master manifold loose and purge it if the blockage is universal past that point.

Hi,

Each sprinkler head has a filter. Depending what type heads cleaning is fairly simple.

That would be a start.

Well, city water?

Some systems have a master seloniod at the main. Possibly faulty.

Possibly descibe your system in more detail. Pics always help.

you must have a well, and the pressure tank is supplying the pressure until it is depleted and the pump cannot supply the demand, probably the well screen plugged, or weak pump it is not uncommon for these submersible pumps to have a bad run capacitor and run at only 50% contact a reputable well service Co.
