Powerwash pine shatzs off garage roof...
I had a heckava problem with collections of pine needles on my garage roof. The pitch is too steep to sweep them off so I made a very long handled 'hook' to get behind them and pull. This is 1,000X easier/better.
I simply stand on the ladder and point the wand (with Zero deg. nozzle) and blow them off in maybe 5 minutes. I have done my gutters this way for years; I don't know why I didn't think of it before?!

I'd be leery of using a PWer on a shingled roof. The pressure will also remove some of the granules on the shingles and shorten their life

Mark, I've already out lived Christopher Hitchens. The life of the shingles will certainly exceed the time I will give a rat's backside about them. I simply needed a simple way to deal with 'the problem in hand'.

Jim,
It's good this works for you.
I think Mark is pointing out the fact that this might not be something we could endorse for others to do.
Many people are getting by on a substandard roof and might want to be warned of something that can hasten their roof's final end.
