You said you turned the system "on" and the solenoid in the ground. Does that mean you manually commanded the zone to come on via the controller or did you go out to the valve box and manually unscrew the solenoid from the valve? Does any water flow from those two zones? Is water bubbling out of the sprinklers but not enough to pop them up?
If you only tried from the control panel it is possible you have a broken wire, bad connections or bad solenoids.
If you physically turned/unscrewed the solenoid from the valve and it did not work I would first try disassembling the valve and cleaning it. It could be something simple like dirt or sediment clogging them. While it's apart carefully inspect the diaphragm. It's a wear part and needs to be replaced occasionally.

I did a manual set on both zones then unscrewed the solenoid.Could hear what sounded like water and a couple of the sprinkler heads had water trickling out but nothing popped up in either zones after the manual turn on of the zones and then turning the solinoid 1/4 turn as stated on the top of solenoid

Many sprinkler heads have a filter and I've seen some solenoids that also incorporate filters. Try unscrewing the top of your problem sprinklers to pull the guts. You should see the filter and be able to see if it's clogged or needs cleaning. Other than that it could be the valve clogged and needing to be cleaned or the diaphragm replaced.
